iKey 911 Vehicle Mount Keyboard

Versatile, rugged in-vehicle keyboard with many extras
(edited by C. H. Blickenstorfer)

In April of 2007, iKey, Inc., a company specializing in Industrial peripherals manufacturing, announced the release of the 911 Keyboard. It is a vehicle mount keyboard with an integrated touchpad that provides customers additional security with an optional Radio Frequency RF Prox ID Scanner.

The 911 Keyboard was specifically designed for vehicle mount in emergency, police, service, transport trucks and even marine vessels. Features include a user-friendly integrated touchpad, backlit keys for low-light environments, one-touch emergency key, mounting holes and optional integrated ID Scanner for security. The easy-to-use integrated touchpad was created to meet public demand for a user-friendly alternative to traditional HulaPoint devices.

The optional Prox ID Card technology is a new security feature integrated in 911 Keyboards. Prox Keyboards provide additional security by requiring users to log into computer terminals with a security badge. The new technology helps users protect sensitive information and eliminates threats of unwarranted user access to a terminal.

The 911 is part of iKey's line of NEMA-4X rated keyboards that includes several compact models that have successfully been deployed in a variety of mobile applications: mounting in vehicles, tanks, airplanes, submarines, forklifts, data-input devices and assembly lines. All use a sealed, industrial silicone keypad and robust ABS polycarbonate cases, are completely sealed against loose food-products, dirt, dust, grease, unwanted spills and extreme temperatures.
