Polywell Computers announces mini-PCs with extended temperature range

Established provider of rugged systems launches budget-friendly line of industrial mini-PCsa

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., October 10, 2022 — Polywell Computers, which has always been aiming at reasonable pricing and an optimal price/quality ratio, announced the availability of extended temperature range industrial-class mini-PCs with pricing that will please enterprise purchasers and system integrators.

Polywell Computers is aware that industrial and embedded systems are expected to reliably work even under harshest environmental conditions. Extreme high- and low-temperature environments can be found in numerous applications such as industrial automation, video surveillance, digital signage, information kiosks, boundary calculations, etc. While there's an ample supply of PCs from various manufacturers that are capable of withstanding extreme environmental conditions on the market today, costs can be high, often several times as much as comparably equipped standard PCs.

The Polywell Nano-U8FL2C6 mini PC, based on 8th generation Intel® Core™ i7/i5/i3/Celeron®-U processors, supports up to 32 GB of RAM, has two Gigabit network cards, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules, and supports up to three video outputs. HDMI and DP are standard and there is an LVDS/eDP connector on the motherboard. Storage is via M.2 2280 SSD. The system can be equipped with an optional PCIe x8 slot.

The Nano-U8FL2C6 mini PC has a wide range of I/O ports — there are four USB 3.1 ports, up to four RS232 and up to two RS485 serial port connectors, a universal GPIO connector, and two SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) ports, making the setup perfect as a versatile data acquisition tool for any industrial information system or process control system.

But it can also operate in the temperature range from -20° C to +60° C, withstand storage temperatures from -40° C to +75° C, and withstand serious shock and vibration loads.

Note that the electronic components market supply channel can still cause longer than average lead times, so place your orders early to ensure on-time delivery.
