Teguar launches new rugged Android tablet series

TRT-A5380 Android rugged tablet series is the ultimate tool for mobile, rugged computing

CHARLOTTE, NC, USA — April 26, 2019 — Teguar COmputers announced the TRT-A5380 Android Rugged Tablet Series, the ultimate tool for mobile, rugged computing. The series is available in screen sizes of 8 inches and 10.1 inches and it is available with ultra slim housing, denoted by the "S" at the end of their name. The TRT-A5380-08 and TRT-A5380-10 provide an abundance of inputs/outputs, built-in barcode scanner option and have an 8-pin pogo connector, giving them the ability to mount to a forklift/vehicle/desktop docking station. The TRT-A5380-08S and TRT-A5380-10S provide the same ruggedness and higher processing power in a slim, sleek, ventless enclosure.

The Android operating system provides a familiar, easy-to-use interface and access to millions of apps on the Google Play Store. Android also gives these tablets the ability to integrate with your other Android devices, and makes them more cost effective than most Windows tablets.

These tablets are built for tough environments. They are Military-Standard-810G rated, so they can handle drops up to 4ft to concrete, wider temperature range, shocks and vibrations. All of the tablets are at least IP65 rated, so they can be sprayed for cleaning or operate in the rain, with the option for IP67, meaning they can handle immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. The TRT-A5380 Series is fanless and fully enclosed, so internal parts won't be damaged by dirt or dust.

These rugged tablets are lightweight and mobile. They come standard with a hand strap and have other easy-carrying options such as a shoulder strap, back strap, and carrying handle. They are ideal for use in field services such as automotive repair, maintenance, telehealth, and construction. They're also great for use in industries including logistics, shipping, oil and gas, mining, energy, and warehouse management.

There's nothing these tablets can't handle. GPS, 4G, and Wi-Fi keep you connected to back-end infrastructure when you're out in the field, and built-in 13.56 MHz NFC and the optional integrated barcode scanner simplify inventory management in your warehouse. The high-resolution cameras allow you to capture clear images for service applications and real-time photo transfers. The front camera allows for video conferencing which is extremely beneficial for field service troubleshooting.

The TRT-A5380-08 and TRT-A5380-10 have many mounting options. When you don't need the tablet in your hand, you can rest it in its docking station, which provides extra I/O's and charges the tablet, or mount the tablet to a vehicle or forklift with various VESA 75/100 and AMPS mounting options, which provides almost limitless mounting possibilities.

Each tablet in this series provides unique benefits. The table below provides a quick comparison of the technical specifications for all four tablets.

Ongoing product support is locally available in Charlotte, NC as well as locations in Europe and Taiwan.
