TOLEDO, Ohio, — March 27, 2019 — Estone Technology several months ago announced the upcoming release of our 8", Android Powered tablet platform for Rugged/Medical applications. We are pleased to announce that the MJ-80 tablet platform is now complete and that samples are available for evaluation. The MJ-80 represents a combination of the latest Android 7.1 "Nougat" operating system with our most popular rugged features and modules in a compact, 8" screen platform. The Rockchip RK3368 processor provides plenty of horsepower for any application, and the unit offers up to 4GB LPDDR3-1866 RAM and up to 128GB eMMC v5.1 storage for applications in almost any industry. A PowerVR SGX6110 GPU provides wide graphics support, and a 1W internal speaker is augmented with 4-Pole Audio Out to easily support more advanced audio functions.

As an OEM, the thing that makes Estone Tech tablets the most appealing option for such a wide variety of uses is our equipment options. The MJ-80 is available with any combination of a physical fingerprint reader, a physical 1D/2D barcode scanner, advanced GPS units, front and rear cameras, and extensive I/O options. Users in rapid-change environments like hospitals or shop floors may also want to take advantage of an available docking station that keeps the tablet fully charged and can connect it to all sorts of peripherals when docked.

The MJ-80 features all of Estone Tech's ruggedness know-how. The unit is IP65 Waterproof, and tested against drops and impacts vs MIL-STD-810G standards. It is rated for operating in extreme temperatures as high as 50°C and as low as 0°C. It is also available with IEC-60601 Medical Certification and anti-microbial construction for use in healthcare settings.
