The new intrinsically safe Getac UX10-EX tablet delivers powerful performance in hazardous environments
Fully rugged tablet meets stringent ATEX/IECEx standards for use in Zone 2/22 hazardous locations, improving worker safety and productivity in potentially explosive atmospheres
Telford, UK — February 13, 2020 — Getac has announced the launch of the new UX10-EX intrinsically safe fully rugged tablet, delivering powerful, reliable computing performance to professionals operating in hazardous environments.
Designed for the demands of modern industrial operations
As digital transformation continues to sweep through industry, organisations increasingly require powerful digital solutions that enable them to automate processes, manage assets and analyse critical data flows from anywhere in their facilities, even in hazardous environments. The UX10-EX has been specifically designed to do just that. Key features include a 10.1-inch Full HD LumiBond® touchscreen display with 1000 nits of brightness, offering crystal clarity in all weather conditions — from bright sunlight to heavy rain — and it can even be used while wearing gloves. MIL-STD-810G and IP65 ratings ensure operation in temperatures ranging from -21o to +63o C and drop resistance of up to 6ft.
Powerful connectivity and on-site versatility
With many industrial facilities often spread out over large geographical areas, the UX10-EX features a wide range of connectivity options including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE with integrated GPS, ensuring workers remain connected in even the most remote locations. The UX10-EX also offers optional features and accessories to ensure productivity and increased mobility in hazardous environments, ranging from carry solutions to data capture and security features.
"Modern industrial professionals, such as those operating in the Oil and Gas sector require powerful, versatile devices that not only enable them to conduct a wide range of activities from anywhere, but also keep them safe in the challenging environments they operate in every day," says Chris Bye, President, Getac UK Ltd. "The new UX10-EX is purpose built to provide the safety, performance, durability and reliability they need, meaning they can stay focussed on the task at hand, whatever the situation."
The UX10-EX comes with Getac's three-year bumper-to-bumper warranty, covering accidental damage as standard, providing workforces with the confidence to operate anywhere with peace of mind.
