Electrovaya Scribbler SC-800

When maximum battery life is priority #1
(by Conrad H. Blickenstorfer)

Electrovaya's primary business is providing mobile power via its patented battery technology. You may have seen the company's PowerPads that supply extra battery life to standard notebooks. The Scribbler SC-800 Tablet PC combines Electrovaya's battery technology with a Tablet PC slate to create a machine that packs more battery power--a full 120 Watt Hours--than any other Tablet PC out there, by far. The SC-800 runs 8 to 16 hours between charges. It is, however, not a one trick pony, but an expertly made slate with excellent connectivity, including FireWire, and such innovative add-ons as an integrated fingerprint reader. At this point the only drawback is that Electrovaya hasn't updated the SC-800 in a while, so no Hydis display or speedy new Intel processor. Still, the SC-800 is fast enough, and it certainly is unique.
