A state-of-the-art and very flexible ruggedized PDA

When it was introduced, the Intermec CN30 was the company's most state-of-the-art model that established a new approach and set new standards. The CN30 has a blazing 520MHz PXA272 processor, uses Windows Mobile 5.0, and features a large 3.7-inch transflective display with full 480 x 640 resolution.

The CN30 uses a modular concept that allows customers to change attributes and configurations based on user preferences or application requirements. Initially, customers have a choice between a 14-key navigational module or a 56-key full alphanumeric module. Others will follow, and all can be changed anytime. The CN30 can also be operated with or without a pistol grip handle. Wireless communication is via fast 802.11b/g or Bluetooth. A powerful 18 Watt-Hour battery provides full-shift operation. Despite its avant-garde electronics and features, the CN30 is also rugged enough to handle plenty of abuse.

As of June 2009, the CN30 was no longer listed as an active product despite its seemingly future-oriented specs and design. Perhaps the modular concept didn't work out in the real world.
